Service Above Self Award

Rotary’s highest honor recognizes Rotarians who demonstrate Rotary’s motto, “Service Above Self”, by volunteering their time and talents to help others. The award is internationally competitive and is granted to no more than 150 Rotarians worldwide, and no more than one from each district, each year.

Only district governors, immediate past district governors, RI directors, and past RI directors may honor exemplary Rotarians by nominating them to be considered for this award. If you know of a Rotarian in your club or in our District who you feel is deserving of this recognition, please read the attached Service Above Self Award information and fill out the Nomination form (also attached). Please submit your nomination(s) to my attention no later than October 15th so we have time to review, select and submit our District’s candidate by RI’s deadline of November 1st. What a great way to recognize a fellow Rotarian. Our District’s last Service Above Self award recipient was Dan Doherty (RC of Calgary West) in 2015-2016.
